You may write me down in history
With your bitter, twisted lies,
You may tread me in the very dirt
But still, like dust, I’ll rise.
Still I Rise by Maya Angelou
I just realized my “quote of the day” was not published earlier. Here I go again:
Many can try to bring you down, write things about you, use harsh words to degrade you, but, remember, regardless of what others say, still you can rise.
Have a great rest of your weekend!
I will never forget the day I read “I know why the Caged bird sings” by Maya Angelou. I will always remember the day, hour, second I came across her work for the first time. It was amazing. I wish I could turn back time to be able to go to one of her readings and or events. She was and will always be one of my top favorite writers.
This poem can be a poem you can incorporate in your life. You can even go to you tube and watch her read it. It is brilliant! If you ever need uplifting literature, read her work, she is amazing!
