Hello and welcome to Mrs. Lady Renaissance. Today’s post is a mixture of an outfit of the day and the quote of the day. I wish you all a Happy New Year. Please be safe, first and foremost, and I hope you enjoy your evening with family and friends. Although everyday can signify a new day leading towards a new beginning, a new year can set forth a full set of goals and dreams. It can become a habitual date to review last year’s written goals and check off all the accomplishments attained while providing a new avenue to write new goals. May this new year be filled with goal related risks and may every risk result in infinite success.

Fashion: A Windy Day Outfit of the Day

Hello and welcome to Mrs. Lady Renaissance. Today’s “outfit of the day” was selected with the windy Santa Ana winds we’ve encountered in mind. I didn’t want my hair flying all over the place, as it often does, so a hat–and a very simple ensemble–was the best choice for this “running around with kids and having to go to school 5 days a week” mom.

Fashion: A Rainy Day OOTD

“Then I will give you your rains in their season, and the land shall yield its increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.”

–Leviticus 26:4

Hello and welcome to Mrs. Lady Renaissance. For today’s post, I would like to discuss the beauty of rain. California has been in a drought for about 4 years and according to USA Today, we may be approaching a “mega drought” that, apparently, is something far too difficult to diagnose prior to occurring. In other words, we may notice we are having a “mega drought” once we are smack dab in the middle of it. What is a “mega drought” you ask? Well, according to the article published in 2014, a “mega drought” is drought lasting for a decade or more. Interestingly, a doubt in the U.S. is not all too uncommon and they  have occurred in the past. The article mentions the 1930’s Dust Bowl, I learned about it a year ago while watching a Netflix Documentary, that had Oklahoma residents migrating to other states. Anyway, the point of my post, before I got off track, far too common on this blog, is to give a big hooray for the rain on Monday. It was very much welcomed and appreciated. I feel that the rain almost feels like a cleanse, a new beginning of some sort, a fresh start. Aside from discussing the rain, I’m also posting my outfit of the day for a nice rainy day; it may seem like an oxymoron, but it is true. A nice rainy day. What could be a better choice for such a day than the half shell heroes and some Guess over-the-knee boots? Thank you for stopping by.

Fashion: A California Pumpkin Patch Outfit

Hello and welcome to Mrs. Lady Renaissance. This weekend, although I had a lot of homework, we decided to take the kids to a pumpkin patch. We needed an outing that would give the kids a bit of a fun distraction, and the adults something to think about aside from work, school and the current disappointing presidential debates. Only in California could the weather be upward of 100 degrees in October. It was incredibly hot and this is the outfit I decided to wear. Nothing out of the ordinary, very casual, but fun. Of course, very far from the typical warm, layered, fall pumpkin patch outfit we all love.

Disclaimer: I am a mom of three and full time grad student. My “outfits of the day” reflect a low key stance focused on being “on the go” with a fun twist. I often down play the make-up and wear pieces that are contingent on running after a 2 year old. I rarely have time to do hair and nails, but that is simply a reflection of my busy schedule as a student, mother and wife. How do you Renaissance?

Fashion: A Corset Story; From Meetings with Clients to Lunch with the Girls

Hello and welcome to Mrs. Lady Renaissance. For today’s outfit, I decided to include a corset belt that I’ve had for about 12 years. It was a staple I utilized to spark interest in work attire, but also for casual days and to add interest to dresses for a night out. I love how it has a ruffle at the back making it something fun while still cinching the waist.

A Renaissance Mom’s Outfit of the Day: A Boho Vibe

Hello and welcome to Mrs. Lady Renaissance. A breezy boho vibe is really what I was going for when I decided to wear this outfit. I love the flared jeans and the breezy white blouse and although it is a toned down version of the bohemian style, I still feel the easy going look lends itself to the popular style.IMG_8552

Fashion: A Birthday Outfit

Hello and welcome to Mrs. Lady Renaissance. My parents had a small gathering for my 33rd birthday. For this tiny soiree, I decided to wear this as my birthday celebration outfit. It is fun and fresh for the extremely warm weather. The roses were a gift from my uncle David; I wish the camera gave them justice because they are beautiful!
