“All too often women believe it is a sign of commitment, an expression of love, to endure unkindness or cruelty, to forgive and forget. In actuality, when we love rightly we know that the healthy, loving response to cruelty and abuse is putting ourselves out of harm’s way.”

I am close to the end of this quarter and this is my last quarter of coursework in the MA program. I am exhausted, but I have discovered a lot of new ideas, authors and perspectives. bell hooks (her name is meant to remain in lowercase letters) is a new author I am using as I prepare for my MA comp exam–since I won’t be writing a thesis–and she is amazing. I can do this. You, regardless of whatever situation you may find yourself in, can do this as well. We can reach the end and start a new beginning.
