“There are some things you learn best in calm, and some in storm.”
–Willa Cather
In a few days, my fall quarter will begin. This quarter will be a very busy one as I will intern for a Willa Cather lit course and take a couple other courses. I tried to catch up as much as possible during the summer by reading one of the six books required for the internship and I must say, I love Cather. I read O Pioneers! and it was beautiful. The outcome between Emil and Marie was just so sad. I am currently trying to complete My Antonia and I still have four to go. Can I catch up before Friday? Probably not, but it doesn’t hurt to try. Anyway, my procrastination has caused me problems, I don’t want to be so stressed out this quarter while attempting to teach a course. It may be true that some things are learned best in calmness, but I seem to steer towards the storm. Not a good thing, if you ask me. Don’t be like me, don’t procrastinate. I caused my storm when I could’ve learned in calmness. Now, if life throws you life lessons in the storm, so be it, but don’t be the catalyst of your own stormy lessons.
Have a productive day!
