Hello and welcome to Mrs. Lady Renaissance. The climate has been upward of 100 degrees leaving me unwilling to turn on the oven and bake a batch of brownies. I did, however, find these delicious looking brownies on sale at Ralphs. My husband and kids are obsessed with peanut butter and they were head over heels with these. It is easy to elevate any dessert. Here are my steps:
Step 1:
Warm up the brownies on a cast-iron skillet. If you don’t have one, the microwave is fine.
Step 2:
Once the brownies are warm add ice cream on top. I usually purchase ice cream with the least amount of ingredients (Breyers Strawberry Ice Cream) or I make my own. In this case I used plain strawberry ice cream.
Step 3:
Add Fresh Fruit, nuts, extra peanut butter, whatever you want.
Finally, enjoy. There is something so delicious and luscious about eating a warm brownie with a cold heaping spoonful of ice-cream. The juxtaposition of the warm chocolate bread and the cold ice-cream melting and tickling my tastebuds feels so divine. Each bite is a mixture of opposites filled with just the perfect amount of chewiness and creaminess.
