I have decided to paint my door Gold. Now, to be fair, I have to reveal that it is not exterior paint, but I went for it anyway. I still have to coat it with a protector, but we have undergone an external paint makeover. Finally! In the process, I decided to paint the door.
Our home has not been touched in 15 years. We have 3 years with our home and the exterior has irked us from day one.
The paint color is a Target brand metallic gold color. It is so beautiful! I will be painting my daughter Sarah’s ceiling this color. That is how much I love the color. The pictures taken are while the paint is still drying, so you may see some darker areas than others, but it does dry even and the color is Gold. I did use a simple dollar store brush and it did not leave any streak marks.
Steps to painting a door:
Step 1: Tape off all the edges of the door and the hardware. Don’t forget the peep hole.
Step 2: Lay painter’s paper or a cloth big enough to protect your floors.
Step 3: Mix and pour your paint in a tray or small bucket.
Step 4: With a paint brush begin painting the boxes.
Step 5: With a spongy small roller, begin painting the rest of your door.
Step 6: Don’t forget to give it a couple of passes.
Step 7: Remove the tape while paint is still wet.
What do you think? Too bold? Or not bold enough?
