Chocolate bark is so delicious and, best of all, incredibly easy.
Step 1:
Boil water in a sauce pan and line your cookie sheet with parchment paper.
Step 2:
Pour the chocolate, of your choice, into a bowl.
For the dark chocolate, I used a half bag of milk chocolate and a half bag of semi-sweet.
Step 3:
Prepare all toppings ahead of time.
For example, we crushed almonds, pecans, Oreos and had unsweetened organic coconut chips on hand. I have the kids place them in plastic baggies and beat the Baggie against the counter or lightly roll artillery over the bag.
Step 4:
Place bowl on top of the saucepan.
Note: do not allow the water to touch the bowl.
Step 5:
Stir often until the chocolate melts.
Step 6:
Spread your chocolate over your parchment paper and create a rectangle.
Note: I suggest you wipe off the steam that builds on the bottom of the bowl so it doesn’t fall into your chocolate.
Step 7:
Add your toppings and use the same spoon or butter knife to incorporate it within the chocolate.
Note: licking the spoon is a must!
Step 8:
Place in the freezer or refrigerator for at least 2 hours. I placed mine in the freezer over night.
Step 9:
Once hardened, break into piece. I broke them by hand, carefully, as I didn’t want the toppings to fall off.
Step 10:
Enjoy and be ready to awe your guests.
If you wish, you can microwave it, in a microwaveable bowl, in the microwave, in 10 second increments. Simply mix between each 10 second countdown.
