Home Decor: Fall Threshold

My entrance still needs a few updates to be administered such as the door knob issue where we ended up having to replace the top part because the other one gave up on us, therefore, leaving us with two different door knobs; the roman shade on the second window has still not been completed and, finally; the flush mount chandelier hasn’t been installed, but it doesn’t stop me from enjoying my entrance by giving it a fall appeal. Here is my fall decor:

What do you think about my cornice box? I made it out of an H&M box, a glue gun, fabric and ribbon. There are so many tutorials on this, the options are endless.

Doesn’t Fall feel so wonderful after a long hot Summer? It seems to present a refreshing end to a heaping hot season and a refreshing beginning to a cooler one. I, once, remember reading an article where it states that break-ups occur more during the Summer and many unite or find love more during the cold seasons. I guess many like to cuddle, or, perhaps, have someone to spend the holidays with, what do you think?

What do you think about Princess Zara; that is what my girls named the Zebra?

Who doesn’t like to go shopping and kick off the shoes?

Samuel Taylor Coleridge’s Christabel is a great reminder on why one should not force something into our lives and how important it is to take precautions when allowing others into our home, our lives–our Threshold simply to fill a void, much like Christabel’s need for a mother figure.

I decided to glamorize our peephole by adding an inexpensive picture frame. What do you think?

I hope you enjoyed my Threshold, no it isn’t perfect nor complete, but still an enjoyable area within our home. We are strict on not wearing shoes in the home and, although it is difficult to get everyone that walks in to remove their shoes, we feel that our Threshold is the very place we can begin to peel away the layers from the world the very moment we walk in. It is the last chance we have to prepare ourselves as we exit our safe haven and head into the world. It is the place where we welcome friends and family and the place where we enter and exit with happy thoughts and motivated souls for everyday is a new and happy day. Welcome to my Threshold, I hope you’ve enjoyed the arrival.

Let me know what you think. . .don't be shy.
