Quote of the day: 8/27/15

“A library is a good place to go when you feel unhappy, for there, in a book, you may find encouragement and comfort. A library is a good place to go when you feel bewildered or undecided, for there, in a book, you may have your question answered. Books are good company, in sad times and happy times, for books are people – people who have managed to stay alive by hiding between the covers of a book.”― E.B. White

Perhaps, because I am an English major, this quote breaths life into my soul. Music may bring comfort to many and I agree, music can, but there is nothing like going to a library and getting lost in endless books. There is a sense of comfort in walking through the aisles picking and frolicking through the world of books; endless amounts of books; the characters within the books; the words and thoughts within these books. If you find your life to be boring, reading books can help because you become these characters and feel what they feel, and, for a short moment, you forget your own life as you breath what they breath while you have been raptured from your life to live the very life of someone else, in another place and time.

Books can temporarily change your identity,  classical music can sooth your discomfort, food can transport your senses, love can take you captive, kids can render you complete (they are my life for they are the missing link), nature can stretch the unparalleled feeling of transporting into another dimension by reminding you that there is a God, fashion encapsulates both a period and an exclamation mark, pets bring selflessness, sports bring a sense of community, space exploration is humbling, a child’s laughter is priceless, a child’s embrace is liberating, a child’s kiss is a deliverance of life’s worries, and writing is soul searching.

Let me know what you think. . .don't be shy.
