Fun Fact Friday: 5/22/15–Esposa-Wife and Handcuff

Did you know that in the Spanish language “esposas” means “wives,” but also “handcuffs?”

My husband, being the jokester he is, brings this up during many social gatherings. He gets a kick out of it. Interestingly enough, “husband” is called “esposo” which is the masculine term of “esposas.” Hmmmm. . . what do you think? The feminist side of me would have an article full of things to say, including backed up scientific data and even bring Freud into this, but, for the sake of this light-hearted blog post, I will leave this alone. I will spare you a 15 page essay.

Let me know what you think. . .don't be shy.
