“You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose. You’re on your own, and you know what you know. And you are the guy who’ll decide where to go.”
Dr. Seuss
You have the ability to steer your life in the direction you desire. Imagine that! We have the ability to steer our very own lives. It all boils down to decisions. What decision will you make today that impacts your life and steers it towards the direction you desire? Are you currently unhappy about the situation you are in? The job you work for? I know, it is easier said than done, but it begins with a thought, then seek options elsewhere, finally, it is up to you to take that plunge. When Dr. Seuss states “you’re on your own” he, I believe, means that you are on your own in deciding where you want to steer your life towards. As in, you are the ultimate modifier in your actions. My husband and I certainly consult each other, but he is the ultimate decider on his actions and I am on mine. You are in charge of your actions, make them worth while.
I know, another children’s author, but, may I add, I do have three children and I read to them, it’s inevitable? I used to read Hannah, my oldest child and daughter, all of my college readings when she was a baby up until she was about 5. Now, I read to them children’s books because my Graduate work seems to no longer include literature, but more of rhetoric studies, composition studies, linguistics, and the discussion of discourse communities. With that said, I find myself quoting child authors now.
Have a wonderful day!
