Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster. And if you gaze long enough into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you.~Friedrich Nietzsche
This is a wonderful quote for people of all ages. I think we should have this in large print within every kids view. This quote says so much about life, friends, society, culture, adopting habits, the list goes on.
Be careful that you do not desensitize yourself in the process of any action you commit for daily habits become normal and natural. This goes with the food we eat, the movies and television we watch, the music we listen to, the abuse we endure when encountered with abusive relationships, the friends we entertain, etc. If we make things, bad things, a habit, then you become that monster. If you work in “fighting monsters” you just may become a “monster” yourself. (This reminds me of those movies you watch where an agent goes undercover on a mission to stop illegal actions, but he/she ends up taking part in that world and they find it difficult to get out. They went into it wanting to fight it and become it.) If you select friends, your significant other and those you spend the most time with that seem to entertain bad habits, you may resist, at first, but you will eventually fold to those habits and actions. Make sure there is a balance in all the things you decide to engage in.
Have a wonderful day!
