Healthy Insider: ACV-Bragg’s Apple Cider Vinegar

Did you know ACV can help tone your skin, remove build up in hair, help with a sore throat (I use this during sick days), place it in the bath tub when I bath my girls for UTI’s, and so much more! Here is a quote from the website:

Vinegar can do everything from relieving muscle pain from exercise, balancing pH levels, soothing sore throats, and normalizing weight and helping to maintain levels of cholesterol already in the normal range. Externally, it is effective in supporting healthy skin and hair. Use it topically to give yourself a vinegar facial for toning or clearing up non-cystic acne and exfoliating dry dull skin. Gently rub your skin with a soft cotton ball dipped in vinegar and watch your skin glow! It’s also great for animals. Use it as a soothing after-bath rinse for cats and dogs to eliminate dry skin. Just as with people, it is also helpful in older animals. The high acidity and powerful enzymes in apple cider vinegar also supports a healthy scalp. Try a rinse of apple cider vinegar after you wash your hair. It gives hair incredible shine and bounce!

I have been using this for years and we love it. We (my husband and I) are now used to the taste and can take a spoonful without any sweeteners, the kids, however, need it hidden. I do not like to give my kids antibiotics because it weakens the immune system, so, the time my oldest had a UTI, I used this in the bath tub and it went away. The doctor couldn’t believe it. I have used it when bathing the dog, for my nephew when he had cradle cap, when sick, to tone my skin, for build up on my hair. There are so many uses for this. There are some conflicting thoughts on this as I have met some holistic doctors that don’t like it and others do. I also have seen this work on reducing phlegm and mucus. Some people use this to lose weight.

Have you ever heard, “an apple a day keeps the doctors away”? Well, i like to say, “a shot a day keeps the ailments away.” LOL Yes, I still get sick, especially when I run out of ACV and I don’t consistently take it. Oh, let’s not forget I am at the end of my nursing stage–Noah will soon be 1 and that is it–and, as a busy mom, I don’t always have time to take care of myself.

Some ask, can I use regular white vinegar?

No, you need raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar that has the “mother” in it.

Can I use the ACV that is far cheaper and is sweetened?

You can, but it won’t have the same effect as this one does.

What is the “mother”?

It is the cloudy pieces you see within the bottle.

Do your research, you may find it helpful.

Note: White vinegar is excellent in cleaning showers and is a wonderful household cleaner! I will post something on that. I use it at home all the time.

Let me know what you think. . .don't be shy.
