“Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. . .” –Ralph Waldo Emerson
Good morning and Happy Friday! Oh yeah, it is Friday. As we head into the weekend, remind yourself that the week has passed. To some, the work week has ended and to others, the weekend is when the work week begins. Toil each day to the best of your ability and once that day has come to an end, be proud of your hard labor. Work does not necessarily mean heading into an office. It can mean anything from being an at home mom to being a full time student. The same goes with friendships and relationships; at the end of the day, be proud of the time and effort you put into them. I am often guilty of lingering on a prior day, dragging that day until I exhaust myself pondering on how I could have and should have made things different. I, too, must remind myself of being done with the day, regardless of how it has gone. Especially when it has to do with school, my kids, my husband, or even when I was working, I couldn’t seem to let go of the day by beating myself up for not taking different steps to enhance my day. I challenge you to join me in letting each day go as we have completed them. I challenge you to learn from the previous day by making the next day even better. Learn from your mistakes and be proud of encountering them because each day withholds a fresh start. The same goes with relationships, if you can’t seem to let it go, if you can’t force yourself to get past your failed marriage or relationship, remember that situations happen and we must learn from them and move on. If someone left you, it is their loss. Yes, it is! If you feel it was your personal fault, learn from it, do not make the same mistake again. We can all decide upon having redeeming qualities, make a change towards a better you; a better tomorrow, but not before having a fulfilling today.
